Not all poses are the same.
Who else is tired of the same boring poses in your dogs' photos? "Sit" I'm looking at you! If you want your images to be more unique and eye-catching, try these poses!
P.S. If you want a step-by-step video tutorial to learn how to teach your dog these poses, sign up here! It's completely free -- just enter your email and I'll send it right to your inbox!
Remember when teaching these poses to use high value treats, reward often, and go slowly! It may take a couple sessions spread out over several days for your dog to really grasp it. Once they can do the pose consistently inside, start practicing outside with more distractions! If they struggle with it, it means you moved too fast and need to go back to the basics.

01. head down/flat
This pose is adorable anywhere you use it! It allows you to get down on the dogs' level and see life from their perspective. It's also perfect to show off the fine details of their face and beautiful eyes.
02. stand
Don't underestimate the power of this simple pose! This can show your dog off in a powerful and majestic way, especially if they are looking at something off in the distance. While you can capture this naturally, it's extremely helpful to train a "stand" command! Bonus tip: have your dog stand on an object like a rock or log for added dimension to the image!
03 . roach/belly/upside down
This is a fun one that you don't see every day! Teaching your dog how to roll over, but stop halfway, leads to unique images -- and is just plain fun. Place them in grass or flowers for the best effect!
04. wave
The "wave" pose is one of my favorites! This one is easy to teach and is beyond cute to watch your dog do. Try teaching your dog "shake" and then slowly move your hand higher and higher to teach "wave!"
